Embracing a ‘curatorial business model’, our team in China deviated from the traditional optical shop by creating an immersive "glasses factory" experience, offering a multi-dimensional space that fascinates and captivates visitors.

By subverting conventional frameworks, we turned the production process of eyewear into a journey where consumers can step in, and engage with the history and craftsmanship of the brand.

The design uniquely blends eye care with an artistic atmosphere, aesthetic lifestyle, and rich cultural tourism, injecting new vitality into the eyewear retail sector.
This future-forward approach has redefined how consumers engage with eyewear retail, offering a visually dynamic experience that makes Via-1719 Wu Liangcai New Vision beyond a mere shopping destination.

It evolved into a space that stimulates the senses, deepens cultural connections, and sparks emotional resonance—propelling Wu Liangcai into a new era of growth.

Inspiring a New Way of Thinking

At the heart of Some Call it Science is the concept that anyone can think like a scientist. Through exhibits like "We’ve Been Sciencing," visitors can learn how scientific concepts have been at play long before the term "Science" was ever coined. This exhibit shows how human curiosity and problem-solving have driven scientific advancements since ancient times.

By incorporating tactile and visual elements that engage the senses, our creative technologists ensured that the exhibits speak to visitors of all ages. Whether walking through Sound Island and exploring acoustics or engaging with magnetic forces on Magnetic Island, each exhibit brings science to life in a tangible, relatable way.

Interactive Spaces and Flexibility

Guided by the objective to break away from the traditional, rigid gallery formats, our design-build approach focused on creating flexible spaces. This was achieved by increasing the exhibit floor space and integrating movable fittings and mobile exhibits, which allow the space to be adapted for different purposes. The versatility in layout supports various event formats, from classroom learning, workshops to demonstrations, maximising the use of the exhibition hall.

Our carpentry team also built custom storage solutions for partition panels, enabling quick reconfigurations of the space as needed. These thoughtful design elements not only support the functional requirements of the Science Centre but also create an environment where visitors are free to explore, learn, and be inspired by science.

By seamlessly blending design, craftsmanship, and scientific exploration, Some Call it Science stands as a testament to how design can be used to make science both accessible and exciting.

We are honoured to have been part of this exciting project, blending our design and build expertise with Science Centre Singapore’s vision to create a gallery that is educational, and fun for all.
