"Redefining the Modern Banking Experience."
Located in the heart of Paya Lebar Quarter, the new Maybank@PLQ reimagines the traditional banking environment into a space that prioritises openness, agility, and customer connection. As the appointed design and build partner, our goal was to create a user-centric environment where digital touchpoints and personalised service interactions coexist seamlessly.
The branch adopts a flexible layout, featuring modular partitions and adaptable configurations—allowing the space to transform effortlessly from daily banking operations into a venue for community engagement and workshops.
A standout feature is the ‘Retractable Green Wall’, a preserved moss installation that serves both aesthetic and functional purposes. Beyond its role as a biophilic statement piece, the moss wall retracts to merge a private meeting room with the main hall, creating an expanded venue for larger events. When closed, it offers privacy for focused discussions. This dynamic feature reflects the essence of adaptability and intentional spatial design.
Behind its clean, contemporary aesthetic was meticulous coordination spanning spatial planning, digital integration, and precise construction to ensure design intent was fully realised. The result is a progressive retail banking experience that reflects Maybank’s forward-looking spirit while redefining customer engagement for the modern era.
