"An experience that not only educates but also captivates and inspires, shedding light on an untold perspective about our nation's art history."
Stepping into Untold Stories: Four Singapore Artists’ Quest for Inspiration in Bali 1952, visitors are immediately immersed in a space that blends art history, culture, and storytelling through dynamic visuals, including both photographs taken during the trip and eventual artworks inspired by the trip.
Meticulously designed to capture inspirations and journey of the four artists, the exhibition unfolds across a seamless, narrative-driven journey. Large-format panoramic graphics, environmental projections, and multimedia interactives create an engaging, sensorial environment that invites visitors to explore the untold stories of this historical trip.
The exhibition’s layout follows a linear flow, ensuring an intuitive experience while allowing moments of discovery. Porous spatial dividers establish a sense of openness while guiding visitors through key themes. Layered with soundscapes and controlled lighting, the design enhances the atmosphere, evoking the sights and sounds of Bali and Java.
Divided into three key sections—Imagining Bali, Experiencing Bali, and The Bali Legacy—the exhibition brings history to life through archival materials, immersive storytelling, and interactive stations. From exploring colonial-era publications to engaging with film negatives and art recreations, each section offers a multi-dimensional experience.
At SPACElogic, we are honoured to have designed and built an exhibition that not only informs but inspires, allowing visitors to step into the past and uncover the unseen narratives of this remarkable journey.
