"The entrance greets visitors with a captivating “portal” adorned in dichroic films and our team's recreation of Patty Chang’s Shangri-La Mountain, setting an enchanting tone for the entire space."
Located within the integrated resort of Marina Bay Sands, ArtScience Museum is a unique institution that delves into the intersection of art, science, culture, and technology.
Through ArtScience Museum's exceptional curatorial vision, New Eden: Science Fiction Mythologies Transformed, showcased 70 artworks from 24 internationally renowned female artists—creating an unparalleled and enriching experience for all visitors.
Unfolding across eight galleries, this Design and Build project by SPACElogic marks a meticulous journey of design, development, and construction. Our design exploration delved into diverse motifs and portal concepts, deviating from traditional science fiction to embrace a softer, pastel-gradient aesthetic, accentuating the brilliance of these female artists.
Upon entering, visitors are welcomed by a captivating “portal” adorned in dichroic films and our team's recreation of Patty Chang’s Shangri-La Mountain, setting the enchanting tone for the entire space.
Navigating the challenge of balancing content and wall space for the science-fiction timeline, our design team adeptly presented information in a digestible and reader-friendly format. The fabrication phase, marked by complexities in safeguarding sensitive artworks, saw our production team meticulously crafting mounts and supports with dedicated precision for their preservation.
With the collective efforts of our team, and curators at ArtScience Museum, each gallery in the exhibition stands out uniquely, showcasing our unwavering dedication and creative prowess in bringing this exceptional showcase to life.
