"Reimagining the DBS Singapore Gallery: A Renewed Space for Art and Community."
Timed with SG60 and the gallery’s 10th anniversary, Singapore Stories: Pathways and Detours in Art at the newly revitalised DBS Singapore Gallery traces Singapore’s artistic journey from the 19th century to the 1990s, showcasing pivotal moments such as the nation’s independence, urban development, and community-building. This major revamp is more than a retrospective—it redefines the gallery as a vibrant space for dialogue, connection, and cultural appreciation.
SPACElogic played a critical role in reimagining the gallery’s spatial design, ensuring an intuitive and immersive experience that fosters deeper engagement with the artworks; as well as the fabrication of artwork display structures in the entire gallery. Anchored in the works of both established and lesser-known Singaporean artists, the exhibition broadens representation, inviting visitors to see themselves in the narratives woven through the artworks.
With an emphasis on inclusivity, this transformation marks a step toward the future, solidifying the DBS Singapore Gallery as a lasting hub where Singapore’s artistic heritage continues to inspire.
